DEI has become a buzzword, a political football and a distraction. I don’t know anyone who says: “we need to take our staff from a narrow slice of our society” or “we want to treat our staff members unfairly”, or “there are elements in our society who we do not want in our workplace”. But for those who want those things the “anti-DEI” movement was born. DEI is a means to an end and not an end in itself. Perhaps the initiative needs some change, but not its elimination.
